not a typo- weird xc 9x400m relay

What non disabled male runs a 95 second 400????

That's an ancient bunch of runners. I'd put the 95 year old first and if he doesn't make it then at least the others won't need to bother running.

In a relay that long, I'd go slowest to fastest. Your 95, 85, and 80 second people will put you in a bit of a hole early, but then you'd have a mile and a half of progressively faster runners to close down the gap.

The gap will be too big and the faster runners will be demoralised.

I'd say spread the slow pokes throughout the team. Something like 2nd, 4th and 6th legs. They might even get spurred to try harder trying not to fall behind.

Then fastest 7/8/9.

This. Fastest to slowest. Inspire the slow pokes to run faster by giving them the lead. No one is running their fastest 400 if they’re already 30 seconds behind.

Why not? It appears that everyone is planning on jogging anyway. You couldn't run a 75 second 400m solo?
