My question is that as a runner she has reached and past her max earning power. Why would anyone by a million dollar house in CO when they should be saving and investing for the future. They won't be able to pay taxes, mortgage on a 1.5 million dollar home for 20 yrs. Neither will be able to move into announcing or coaching. How are they going to pay the bills. Someone didn't see a financial advisor.
So the stress was her new book that hit the shelves today ?
houses can be a great investment.
The value can go up.
Granted, maintenance can reduce potential profits.
A wise man once mentioned that it is better to own the home than pay rent costs and not own the home.

My question is why would you worry about it?
Why is there 8 pages on KG personal crisis? Why are you a moron? Sometimes there is no answer.
Of course it's a good investment but it's usually a 20-30 yr payoff. Maybe books pay really well.

I hope being a poor speller doesn’t hurt her coNfidence... ha!
I will not pay to read that book, but lots of soccer moms will. It is no surprise that she thinks she is relevant enough to write a self-help book.
I do, however, hope the book sells enough to help pay for her house that some clown thinks was an ill-advised investment (how do you know what they can and can’t afford? For all we know her parents paid for it and they have a savings plan that will pay for the taxes for the next 50 years. They might have the best financial planner available, how could we possibly know those details of their lives?).
Cheers!

Read about folks that have written a book. The money is not much unless you either have a track record of top selling novels or you are a major celebrity type and get a big advance. It’s a tough gig and the promotional work is on you the author.
The promotional work is easy as we have this little thing called the Internet. Think Instagram, Facebook, etc...
Self-confidence is simply a marketing strategy to get to the female youth who will buy it. Kara has no self-confidence issues, she's overly confident if anything.
Fully agree. I really don’t care how the book sells- the point was more directed at the goof who is wondering about the Goucher financial planning.

This is so arrogant she should be embarrassed!!!!
Kara writes, "As you know...." Yes, we ALL know all about Kara Goucher:):):):):):):):):):)
She's a huge braggart and makes everything about herself.
This is similar when in 2005, Lauren Fleshman broke off her engagement to former baseball player Darrel Strawberry.

Yeah, we believe ya, NOT!!!
"As you know, I have struggled with self comfidence"
This comes across as promotional and marketing bullshit from an attention seeker to get a certain demographic to buy this sort of crap but, if she really does have a "self comfidence" issue, I hope she doesn't read this thread.
It turns out her personal crisis was turning forty and being a middle aged woman wrestling with the idea of getting a tattoo.

So now Kara Goucher has settled on going along with the crowd, joining so many in her generation who want to be like their peers and don't really seems able to think for themselves and get inked up. Impressive.

I don't like what people here are saying at all. Extremely poor taste to say such things about someone's family.
On the other hand, the quote was worded it to bring speculation and committed the mistake of adding a timeline. Why commit yourself to that if this is about something out of your control.
Any running fan or KG fan reading that article will be "what is going on?!?!". This is what statements like that create. But I'm not holding my breath. Based on past results, a month from now, there will be no public statement.
Called it. She's a pro runner, and said it would be clear in a month what it is about. A month later, nothing. What was the point of saying that in the interview?
Just delete the whole thread, it is much easier and will be better for everyone.
