I agree, unless some law is being broken, stop arbitrarily censoring or re-word your description about the Message Boards.

I too am curious about why some threads get deleted as there seems to be little consistency. The only sure thing is any thread that does question the deletion policy will certainly get deleted. I've got various theories but they are all speculative:

1) Any post that presents a reasoned argument on a political issue as this may corrupt readers into supporting a non approved political position. Mindless political posts are acceptable. Both the left and the right feel they are a victim of this policy.

2) Vendettas against certain individuals. The guy's a troll so delete any of his threads even if they make sense.

3) Rushed purges as the database is reaching 98% of its limit. Such as the head moderator shouts out, " We're approaching the limit, I want each of you to delete 10 threads in the next sixty seconds." Threads are deleted based on title and number of posts and the contents are not even read.

I do wish that someone would offer an explanation rather than just delete threads like this. Personally I hope the reason is #3 as the first two are somewhat Orwellian.

Number two is exercised quite a bit. I had two non-descript posts deleted. Nothing controversial. There is a nut job following my posts. Happened before as well.

TL;DR

Also, you take this site way too seriously. I bet you’re the type who gets 90% of his information from Letsrun because you’ve convinced yourself it’s some sort of “bastion of free speech”. Please. There are many, many better places for discussing things that aren’t running. Try reddit.

Great job by all of the complainers telling on themselves for writing horrible posts that deserve to get deleted.

First, I do not take this seriously. In fact, the mere fact that I am questioning and challenging the management shows what I think. Second, no to your assumption that I get 90% of my information here. In fact, I get maybe 0.01%. I may like to share my wealth of knowledge or unbiased opinion, but get information here, hardly. Third, no to Reddit, although you may have suggested that for sarcastic reasons. Finally, who said I am a he?

Look, I'll admit I'm not happy with the moderation but the main volunteer does give us a ton of time so I don't complain too much.

What posts are you talking about? If you ask why something was deleted, it will be deleted. If you email me, I'll try to answer it.
