Yeah I really thought so too until the 3:53. I thought he was never going to break 3:55 again. I guess he's finally rounding back into form (or getting back on the juice, whichever).

I'm pretty sure he is not young anymore by elite middle distance standards right now, let alone 2 years from now.
Let's just say if Rupp has moved on to the marathon at his age, it follows that it would be about time for Centro to move up to the 5000, maybe even 10000.
We don't know whether he will be 100% this year, but the notion that he's washed up is ludicrous. He's run 1:48/3:37.96/3:53 this year already coming back from injury, but ran 3:33.41 in May last year before getting injured. That was his fastest time at that point in the season. In 2016, he ran just 1:47/3:34, yet won Olympic gold. 3:53 is worth 3:35 1500m. In other words, he's on track for USA's and another low 3:30s in Monaco.
