Seriously guys, hobby joggers and the like are the reason why the sport of running is here for us all to enjoy. I've seen countless boards that are made at the expense of them, and while some banter is all well and good (hell, I can't help but to chuckle sometimes at wearing a hydration belt for a 5k or when the guy decked out from head to toe in running gear gets dusted by a 13 year old), but the elitism of this site sickens me to a degree.
I've seen posts on this board of how annoyed some people are apparently to see the joggers/less competitive runners wearing a certain piece of gear or something silly like that. It's so ridiculous that I start to question whether alot of these people are trolling or if they are actually serious when they say that they deem someone as an inferior runner just because they suited up for their race with something like compression socks.
And to hate on them for being slow or unathletic? Please. We're almost all hobby joggers/runners by definition with the exception of those fine people who make it to the Trials or the Olympics amongst others. I run a 16:03 5k. This time might get laughed at by the apparent studs that litter this site but that's ok. I, as a hobby jogger/runner could care less of what this board says to me. I just don't understand why this site is so cruel to those who make this sport really exist.
