Spit it out already
They can’t afford Robert Johnson and I am no sure Washington can be a sprint force like Eugene/Nike.
Dave Smith isn’t ready for that big of a job.
It's 2018 but NCAA coaches are still out here fvcking athletes. That's the (not) rumor.

Yeah, adults that are in contact with one another on a daily basis and share similar passions are sleeping with one another. Bizarre. Who'd have ever thunk it?
It's an abuse of power and authority, not to mention a major violation of professional boundaries. It's sexual misconduct.

LOL. Man you are one warped person.
In Hollywood both the actresses and producers are passionate about the industry and their careers. Producers use their power to seduce/coerce actresses into having "relationships". No "relationship", no career advancement. Actresses of greater talent get cheated out of roles if they don't "put out". The "relationship" isn't a real relationship, it is rough trade, part of the power dynamic of the industry, it certainly fits into a category of BDSM behavior. All involved are adults (most of the time). Do you understand now why it is unethical?

Hey coach you need to go back and read the fine print in your contract.

I do not condone it and yes I understand it is unethical and extremely wreckless from a professional standpoint. It’s naive to think that it is always a situation where the one with greater perceived power is doing the seducing, just as it’s naive to think the one being seduced is always female.
My point was adults sleeping with adults has been going on for a pretty long time now and it’s ridiculous to think you can keep two consenting adults from partaking. As is said, all is fair in love and war. The war often comes after the love, which is why anyone with their right mind would steer clear of such a relationship if they value their career.
UW can't go sprints as some suggest as much as the facilities and talent pool around them could support it because the admission standards are so tough on the men's side that they can't get enough guys into school. Football and basketball eat up all the exceptions the university makes on men's side. Should have some emphasis on women's side because they can make it work there easier but have done a poor job historically in the area. Best move would be distance head and focus on field events and multis.
It's the coach's responsibility (male or female) to not be seduced or do the seducing. Professional boundaries. Ethics. Integrity. All of those things. If that's a problem, find another profession.
Average ACT is 28. That is just above the average college.
who was allegedly having sexual relations with who??

I imagine whoever this (not) rumor is about will in fact be finding another profession. Or maybe Harvard will hire them, who knows. Or Houston. Or one of the hundreds of other schools who have hired coaches who have slept with an athlete. Or maybe they'll get married and end up being a professional coach as so many others have done?

You sound like someone who is closer to 18 than 40. You are not on equal footing with someone who determines your financial fate. They have all the power. College students tell themselves they are complete and equal adults to their coaches, professors, or bosses. That's bull&%!#.

Your emotion is deceiving you. We are not disagreeing that there is no place for this in the NCAA or in society in general when one person's potential career advancement is wholly or partially dependent upon the other person in the relationship. We agree on that.
It was the shock that this could be happening in 2018 that triggered my initial response. Inappropriate sexual conduct between adults will stop right around the same time WADA wipes out doping. It's not right, but it's also not going to stop happening completely until our every action and potential action is recorded and judged by some Superintelligence in real time.
Interesting. I've known people with 1300/1600 SATs that didn't get admitted to UW.
UW has no problems getting people into school. They have athletes joining this year that are barely NCAA eligible. Don't think for one second this is a challenging position. It has every resource available.
What will happen is they will hire a distance coach that is perceived to have been having success at a Power 5 school, depending on who they hire that may be true, and depending on who they hire that person may have success, but there are only a handful of good coaches out there who can also serve as a director and be successful in track as well.
I honestly think best choice for UW is to promote Jason Drake and for him to hire a great coach and recruiter for the men's distance side and to retain his staff including Anita Campbell, who would be great coaching the women. That's the smart move, but guessing it won't happen.
