Transgender in D3 Conference swings tight meet, Fair Play controversy renewed. Thoughts?

Gender confused people shouldn't be participating in activities segregated by gender.

Anyone else remember the movie Ladybugs, where Rodney Dangerfield gets a boy to dress up as a girl in order for the girls soccer team to win? Maybe the coach and athletes decided to use that movie as a playbook, and found a way to win.

Can't wait to see 7 men win an NCAA xc title on the women's side under the guise of transgenderism, equality and fairness.

Just wait as it might be coming someday. You'll just have to find seven good runners interested in becoming transgendered and running for ____________ University. Michigan had the "Fab 5" in the 90's, now XC will have the "Sensational Seven". (little bit different though)

They wouldn't even need 7, probably only 3. If they went 1-2-3, you would only need two more decent female scorers to win it.

I mean, I'm glad she gets to compete and I guess for many people, D3 is just the kind of place for this - no scholarships being taken away and there aren't any meaningful limits on conference meet participants. So at least no one is being deprived of a scholarship here or the opportunity to compete on the women's team or at their conference meet because of this woman's participation.

But as a former D3 athlete, I will tell you that my peers on my team took our conference meet seriously and I took pride scoring points for our team. So even this isn't a situation where it truly doesn't cost anyone else anything. Conference titles are all some teams are ever going to compete for, and they had the culmination of their season determined by what appears to be a physiological male competing against physiological females.

On the whole, I'm glad she got to compete, butnid be left with a bitter taste in my mouth if my team lost its conference championship this way.

Why is it this type of athlete always chooses to compete as a woman? Wouldn't it be more ground breaking to compete against and beat men?

Funny thing is guys laugh at these cheaters but the women who he is screwing over cheer on his “courage” as he makes a mockery of their sport. Women need to grow a pair and stand up to this invasion or they will be overrun by chicks with dcks. Pathetic!

Get rid of gender categories in track and field period. There is absolutely no logical unprejudiced reason to have them in the first place. There is no safety issue by getting rid of them as you could have in a combat sport and all this nonsense about transgender athletes would end.

You raise some solid points-- and I agree that the conference champs for most athletes at any NCAA level in any sport are a big deal. The vast majority would love to be a starter/ scorer in their conference championship. How about the coaches involved, and the institutions represented. You're a former d3 athlete, and I'm a former d3 coach. In our conference, theres an all-sports trophy at the end of the year, for the school with the best conference performances in the school year, both sexes. Many conferences have this, and AD's and coaches are expected to compete for it. That is part of their livelihood. If my daughter was competing against this individual and their institution, I would file a protest against the institution for cheating. Whatever happened to biology class? It's basic X's and O's, not feeling like a man or woman.

The NCAA has super specific regulations that require an extensive medical history, and documentation of hormone treatment. if they are following those rules it's not cheating.

Did anyone check Gina Dello Russo's hormone levels or presence of internal testes? Or any other athletes in the meet?

So, it’s a matter of X’s and/or Y (not O’s). Born a man, compete as a man, nuff said! “Bitter taste in my mouth” is a poor choice of words when discussing a guy who asked someone to chop off his nads. Just saying.

She ran a PB of 16.18 in the 100H. I'm sorry, that is simply not competitive track and field. This is a participation event at best. No controversy here.

Michelle lists her position as "multi".

sub 54 400 at div 3 is all american easily for a girl. Probably NCAA champion.
