Rupp ready to rip a low 2:05?

I go with 2:06:20 and then he'll text Farah saying "wassup now?"

2:07 low at best. The course is not flat.

DNF #2. No hypothermia excuse this time.

I say WR for Rupp. It'll be the greatest moment in American marathoning and divert all the negative attention away from the Kiprop incident.

I'll say 2:05:50. That's a 4:48 mile pace. Shorter talked about running that in 1976.

If the weather is okay and there are pacers, the "Rupp is a 2:09 Guy" crowd will be eating crow for breakfast on Sunday morning.

There would be nine that have ran faster than low 2:05 this year, but that's on flat ultra-fast paced courses. Rupp would be #1 in the world if he managed that but I don't think it's possible in Prague.

Enjoy the cobblestones. Don't fall like Yuki last year.

I think both are reasons they (NOP) chose this race. Rupp wins in 2:05:25.

i bet he runs 2:08 and struggles at the end.

i want him to run 2:05, but that seems like a stretch

2:08 is still really fast. i just want him to have a faster PB than nerdball Meb

he is certainly not as fast as Hall at marathon distance

maybe if Prague is faster than Chicago he can take the 3rd fastest American marathon but I doubt any faster than 2:07

he did do 20 miles at Boston, I guess that is like a long run for him

Pacers are set for 63:00-63:15 at halfway. A low 2:05 would be very tough off of that. There are 2 guys both with about 60-flat half PRs debuting, Teferra (60:07) and Kibitok (60:11) ... I would keep my eye on Kibitok, who looked great pacing at WR pace through 30K in Dubai earlier this year.

If they do hit 63:00 at the half, I think it may be possible, maybe mid 2:05. Only because the first half is more of a gradual uphill, and the second half is more of a gradual downhill to flat.
