So I am a D1 college runner looking for some shoes to get me through the summer. One that has caught my eye is the sketchers go run forza. On paper it is my dream trainer (moderate stability, 6 mm drop, nice cushion) but I’m not quite sure if I want to take the plunge on buying a pair of sketchers.
Anyone with experience? Are sketchers real running shoes?
I’m not the best (or most experienced runner, i’m 16 running for 2 years) but sketchers are the best i’ve run in. Amazing cushioning and feel great for me, and I’ve run around 40-50 MPW for 2 years so thats my two cents.
Plus cheserek wears them.
Why not go with Lunarglides? Always seem to be available on sale at a decent price and probably what the Skechers are emulating anyway...

Bought a pair of GoRun 4s last month.
Best shoe I have ever run in in over 25 years of running.
Just in case you were all wondering, I bought the shoes from running warehouse, and when I get them. I’ll post a review
Legitimately terrible.
They are decent overall, comfortable and stylish, but wear out quickly. If you can get a good deal on Skechers they are worth it but not at full retail price.

I'd say this same thing (aside from stylish). Had a friend who worked for a handful of shoe companies, including Skechers for a while, and he could get em for me super cheap. They wear out super quickly, but they are fairly comfortable. I'd say a bit too soft/cushioned for my tastes.
Like others have said, they are great and comfortable shoes but they wear out relatively quickly. If you can find them on sale, I would recxomemd you snag a few pairs. A great training shoe and the only one I run in atm.
Like wear out how fast? That kinda has me worried

That doesn't mean much when most if not all shoes on the market have half of the adidas' boost longevity.
Well, I got the shoes today, they actually fit rather nicely, and they seem to have ample cushioning. Shame I already did a big workout today, because I would like to try a couple of miles on them
I really like the GoRun Ride 7 as a recovery shoe. Not exactly your question, but Skechers ain’t garbage, regardless of what the Nike shills say.
I very much enjoyed the original Go Run, and more recently the Go Meb Razor. Both were light, well cushioned, and had a smooth ride. I've also used the Go Meb Speed as a racing shoe for some longer races with some success.
I'm glad you took the plunge, because they are just as good as they are on paper.
I have 340 miles on my current pair of Forza 3s, and honestly they are the best shoes I have ever put on my feet. Light, stable, but also forgiving, cushioned, and durable.
No other shoe I have ever worn in my life have done anything close to what the Forzas do for me. They honestly still feel good as new, and the outsole shows very few signs of wear. I have never stuck with a pair of shoes before, but I will be a forever fan of the Forza 3s, and hopefully beyond. They're everything I need and nothing else!
Not to mention, I got these when they were brand new on some sort of sale for 80 bucks. As in, a few days on the market new. This is a major plus with Skechers: since no one wants to buy them, they go on sale for nothing. I recently picked up a pair of GoMEB Speed 3 2016s for 20 bucks brand new.
So, I finally took them out for an 8 mike spin today around 6:40 pace. They felt great! They feel better than the Nike Vomeros that I have been using. They have a much smoother transition, and I like that they are a little lower drop.
The upper is very comfortable, not very structured though. My foot slid around a little going down a steep hill.
I am curious to see how durable they end up being, but if they last even 300 miles, and keep feeling this good, it will be my new favorite trainer.

I've been running for 43 years. I've run in Nikes, Adidas, New Balance, Asisic, Converse (Equinox!), Etonic, Hoka and even one pair of Brooks and I can say that the Skecher's Sprint from a few years ago was one of the best shoes I've ever run in.
Skecher's (some models) are great shoes. Mine have lasted the usual number of miles... 400.
I am considering getting some Skechers. Mostly because they seem decent enough for what I'm looking for and are so cheap.
But first, I have to stop being injured and run again.
