Ran 12.21 for a 100m tonight in my normal easy running shoes, currently run 800m and 1500m, is the time any good for a distance runner?

It was on a track with a standing start
Yeah, that’s good for a distance runner.
If it was self timed than you have to add AT LEAST half a second for cheating the reaction time.
Get it in the low 11s and then focus on endurance
it's a good time for a distance runner.
a lot depends on how old you are. if you're a H/S Freshman or Sophomore, running 12.1 is not bad, and gives you something to work on. if you're a college Freshman or Sophomore then 12.1 sucks.
think of it like this: if you want to run 1:48 for 800m you will need to be able to run 48 flat for 400m, and to do that you will need to be able to do 11.5 for 100m.
so your 12.1 equates approximately to 51.5 - 52.0 for 400m which is around 1:52 for 800m. and note that I'm not saying that because you ran 12.1 you can run 1:52 today. I'm saying that you have the speed to do that, your speed means that you can realistically think about training to run 1:52. if you want to go faster than that then you will need to work more on your basic speed.
cheers.

The 48 400m to 1:48 800m (10 second rule) is bs. I know 49/1.46 runners and 46/1.46 runners. It is so dependent on the person you can't generalize..
Yes that's good. If you are running like 2:12 and 4:45. If your running sub 2 and 4:05-4:10, then it's not that impressive for a Mid-D runner.
