Not in Dallas or Houston, the #1 and #2 LGBT areas of the world.
I can only speak of southern CA and NYC (obviously progressive hubs) but if you're male, no, not really (if you're female, no.)
However, earrings are very out of fashion for men, I gotta say. Gay men abandoned them years ago and straight men are ditching em.
IMO a lot of people won't even realize you have one as long as it's tasteful, like a small stone or ball. And even at that, if you are good enough for the job, they won't care. And if they do care, it's not a place you want to work.

If you're applying to be a barista or food truck in Seattle, they seem to discriminate in your favor, yes.

Are you male or female?
My guess is that some do and some do not. A lot probably depends on the industry.
My guess is that banking and finance might frown upon it, but something in the arts or dealing with creativity will not bat an eye.
In Atlanta here and in a professional environment , yes, many of us who hire do not like them because our customers don’t like them. Excessive visible tats, nose , lip etc. rings, no way. Why give doneone a reason not to hire you? That is just how it is in my world.
I would hope so. Leave the jewelry in the closet and seek electro-shock therapy.

It's inappropriate. No respectable office jobs will hire you if wear it.

That depends on your level of commitment. Better gauge the competition before applying.
