Nah. The E. Africans enjoy unfettered doping during the off season. That carries them a long way.
16:39 for the first 5k. That is some very slow running.

Race leader at 5k has a PB of 2:14.49
It is hot, mid 20s Celsius.
"Major" injection of pace between 5k and 10k. 10k split is 32:08 (race leader has a PB of 2:12.52). Only 8 guys are now in contention (yes, Hawkins is one of them).

Hawkins PRs are 60:00 and 2:10:17
It will be a long and lonely race for the Bermuda guy who is last (24th). He's 20 seconds behind the guy in 23rd. 32k to go...
The bbc guys said Callum had a little problem in the days before the race. Does anybody knows what they where talking about?
It slowed down again between 10k and 15k (48:22), so 16:14 for the last 5k. Adams from Australia is still leading. Twelve guys are now in contention (due to fact that leaders slowed down).
For those following the Bermuda guy. He is now 23rd (because someone dropped out). He is now 4 seconds behind the guy in 22nd. He is not as lonely now.
Shelley FTW!
Trengove in the womens
1:07.44 at the half. Really slow. Hawkins in the lead. Probably a bit too early to lead this. But the pace is so slow that he probably can't stand it anymore.

And when she finishes, she will keep running in my mind.
Guy from Bermuda is up to 21st (1:11.27 at the half). He passed Kamakya from Kenya (PB of 2:06.34), who split 1:12.02 at the half) and a guy from Tanzania who split 1:14.01 at the half.
He is now 9 seconds behind the guy in 20th place...
First decent 5k split. They ran 15:23 between 20k and 25k. Hawkins in the lead. Now only 5 guys in the lead group. Hawkins, 2 Australians, one Guy from Uganda and Mungara from Kenya.
Guy from Bermuda is now 20th. He passed the guy from Wales, who was the race leader at 5k.
He's 60 seconds behind the guy in 19th.
What website are you guys using for updates? I cannot get the official web page to load and bbc etc providing only sporadic updates.
