Last year I didn’t do cross country as a freshmen and coming into winter I wasn’t too good my best 800 being 2:28. In spring track my times dropped dramatically to 5:17 1600 and 2:15 800. With that I decided to run xc. In cross country our mileage was pretty low being 30-40mpw. On the flattest course we had my best time was 18:41. When it came to winter season my mileage dropped to typically low 20s sometimes more. My 800 times slowed horribly only being able to run 2:26 at the end of the season but my 1600 was 5:15. In track season my dad decided I should do more miles since low seemed to not work in winter. I went back up to high 20s low 30s so far. Yet still my 800 is consistenly 2:30 with a 2:26 at the very beginning of the season. I don’t know which way I should go to still do good at cross country yet keep my 800 time at least 2:20 or sub by the end of the season.
