I can only speak for myself but as a neutral [even leaning to under pronation] runner, the NB 1500 gave me medial knee pain. A shame because I loved the ride of that shoe.
The Saucony Mirage had a very minimal medial support but looking back on it my problems during the period I ran in them were definitely caused by the support, however minimal it was. They were even marketed the same as you say they do the Kayano, for overpronators and neutral runners.
What that means for you and the Kayano, I don't know. But if I were you, I would try them out. You will find out soon enough if the shoes hurt you. You will not get a serious injury out of nowhere by trying them out.
Those 1500s ride better than the 1400s, and they don't have a long shank in them, just half of a TPU fork on one side on the sole, so you don't even feel it.
But I'm a neutral/mild supinator, so there is no way in hell I can run in them, but man do they feel good.
Sort of pissed at new balance right now. I'm having a hard time finding another running shoe, because they discontinued the zante v2 breathe. Those things were light as feather, and I used them for everything.
