So as a 15yo, a year ago, she turned heads with 2.01.49. She's now run 2.00.81 in the heats for the Commonwealth Games.

Do you think she will go to college in the US? Australia doesn’t seem to have many pathways

Young developer perhaps, but her best distance will be longer distances, with all her talent she has no future in 800m with men. 1500m will be her event. -
We will soon find out if she is just another Mary Cane. But crikey, she is bloody well good. If she keeps it up, she will be able to go to America someday, and say witty stuff like "you call that a race, this is a race!". She will put the fear into her competition.

Ha, I was watching that movie the other day. I used to scoff at teeny sensations, I now realise that t&f needs wider public appeal. But I would say that her rate of improvement has slowed and performances do replicate Cain's give or take two months. But she needs to stay where she is and keep chipping away, no big changes.
PERFORMANCE PLACE DATE
2018 2:00.81 Gold Coast (AUS) 12 APR 2018
2017 2:01.46 Canberra (AUS) 11 MAR 2017
2016 2:09.59 Perth (AUS) 13 MAR 2016
2015 2:08.17 Melbourne (AUS) 06 DEC 2015
2014 2:10.01 Adelaide (AUS) 06 DEC 2014
2013 2:15.95 Canberra (AUS) 02 NOV 2013 -
Salazar could have her running 2;11 in no time.

Pathways to what? That night Dani Stevens won the discus by about 7m. She’s a world champion. And Kurt Marschal won the PV after 4th in world indoors.
She could well get overtrained and ruined in the US. -

you do realize the faster you get the harder it is to make bigger improvements as well? -

Of course, she should not come to the U.S. because she will get overtrained and ruined, notwithstanding the fact that the U.S. has won nearly 1/3rd of the medals in global competitions. -
Dang. She's got picturesque form. Good lean, arm carriage, heel closer to butt on back leg, fast turnover, etc.

Whatever "pathway" got her to 2 flat at that age seems to be working well. She should go to college wherever she wants and not change much about her approach to running.

Um ... ever heard of Genevieve Lacaze? -

Perhaps because the US has the biggest talent pool in the world. -
Only on a running board is Lacaze anything but a 7 butterface. Decent runner, but not on the level of Hoolihan or Quigley, both of who are better looking.
-
Good athlete who has a very good coach. Volume, quality, altitude... let's hope she can break the Aussie record of 1:59.0 one day and continue running for a long time.

No, that would be China. -

Well I dunno how about the fact there aren’t many training groups especially not that include all the extra stuff like medical, gear etc.
And when you’re at the top of your country harder to improve with less competition.
Oh and athletics Australia very rarely funds any of these people and when they do it’s minimal, so unlike USA most of the Aus athletes work full time?
It was just a question. It’s harder to do your own study while training on your own and paying for everything that’s all. Several other Aus Comm Games athletes are in NCAA right now
