I’m an 800 runner and I’m not in great shape nor am I running any significant mileage. But for some reason when I go on my runs alone or with friends I can’t help but run 7:30 or faster per mile. When I try to go “easy” or friends tell me to slow down it feels like I’m almost stumbling if it’s anything over 8 minute pace. When I open up and get comfortable I always cruise at 6:40 pace. And it always feels good... until I hit my second mile. Anybody else have his experience? I’m 6’3” btw... but I’ve know shorter runners who experience this too.
