Over the summer, at my high school, there are cross country workouts each day with high mileage. I don't want to loose my 400m speed though. I am a beginner in track and my PR is 58 seconds for the 400m. How should I balance sprint endurance workouts and these long distance workouts over the summer so that I don't get burned out or that I don't loose any speed. I would appreciate the advise as I have no coach!
