I am currently running 40mpw and hope to increase to 60mpw in the next few months. I don't have a specific date that I have to hit 60mpw by, but within 3 months would be optimal. For the past 2 years I have been running 6 days a week with a long run of 8-11 miles.
PRs
Mile= 5:24
5K= 18:40
10K= 39:42
A normal week of training would look like this:
Mon: Tempo
Tue: 6 Miles Easy
Wed: Intervals
(Could be 5x2K, 6x800, 12x400 ect. Intensity and volume depend on when in the season)
Thur: 6 Miles Easy
Fri: 6 Miles Easy
Sat: 10 Miles
Sun: Rest
Given these baselines, can anyone post a training plan that takes me from 40mpw to 60mpw in around 3 months?
When (if at all) should I start running 7 days a week? Are doubles necessary with this mileage or would my mpw have to be even higher? If I'm training for the 5K/10K then what is the best distance for my long run?
