regional qualifing procedure???

does it really matter. the top guys will make it and the race in sac town will be good!

The top five will go to Nationals automatically from each region and then all of the 6th, 7th and 8th place finishers from each region will be put into an at-large pool in order of their season best marks and then an additional 6-8 athletes per event will be added to the national meet, until they reach the total of 544 men and women athletes at the national meet. They will give the at large bids to the person with the highest marks, not the highest place at regionals. I.E. If an 8th place finisher at a regional has the best mark during the season he will be the first one chosen for an at large bid, ahead of the two non-auto qualifier athletes that beat him at his regionals.

The reason they did this was to avoid things like the Wisconsin boys just jogging at regionals or people purposely false starting. Now, even if you have the top time in the country, you at least have to give a decent effort and be in the top 8 to get to nationals. Makes more sense to me, but it is still not perfect.

Are there regional individual rankings online anywhere?
