I'm not Justyn but I can see why you would think that. I'm just a guy who thinks Andy Trouard is a loser for doing what he did, it was an impressive race though

He was actually the only runner in the race that was not a loser.
It was a badass move, especially because Knight was still trying to pass him as he did that. That was a show of extreme confidence. He did stumble then, but since he recovered and won all is well.

Andy Trouard: Baller Of The Year 2018!
A little history of Andy Trouard. When he started his Junior year of high school he was a swimmer and a soccer player. He won three State Championship medals for swimming, then was on the State Championship Soccer Team, and then joined the track team having never run before. He won State in the 800, 1600, and 3200 which won his team the overall State Championship. He then goes on to win State in Cross Country which was his first year running Cross Country has a Senior. Next he goes to NAU and helps them win two National Championships. Loser Andy is not. As for Andy as an individual he is one the nicest most humble people you will ever meet. From listening to his interview he did not even remember the last 100 of the race as he was in the flow state of winning.

He stuck it out in a moment of focus and concentration (channeling his inner MJ?) as he was a bit pinned on the rail by Knight in that moment (which is why he tripped on the rail). I noticed this watching it live and it never crossed my mind he was goofing around. Get real.

Great story. I saw him whip Grant Fisher at the Iowa State Classic a month ago so wasn't at all surprised by this. Trouard is a stud.

We confirmed with an NAU coach that Mike Smith (NAU head coach) was standing in that area on the final turn.
Rewatch the video. He clearly spots someone, sticks his tongue out, then turns back to look ahead of him and that's why he loses his balance.
Seems like a nice guy, but it would have been funny if he totally wiped out after being a little cocky.
