I am a junior and this is my second year of track and field and I'd like to run under 2:00
I have not done any weights or any base building during the off season because since im so new to the sport I was naive to what I needed.
Is this a feasible goal? I love the 800 and want to get to the point where I can get down to below 1:55 this off season, any tips would help as far as diet, nutrition, sleep,training pretty much anything.
My personal bests are:
800m- 2:05 (4th meet of the season)
400m-52 (after a "work meet" where i ran 4x8,800 and 1600)
600m-1:29.74
1200-3:34.54
1600-4:48
My coach usually has us doing long sprints in practice 300-600m at a fast pace with small breaks but no real mileage or anything and the days before meets we do like 150s and short speed work
