looking at the field, it looks like he should be going with the leaders and challenge for the win; wonder if win or time is going to be his goal? should be fun to follow!

I would guess he'll either go 2:07-8 or blow up and drop out.
How is the weather going to be? Sticky & hot? Windy?
Link going live at 12:30pm Japan time !
DNF. Blames the weather.
At the minimum, he is going tie Rod Dixon National Record.

22:30 EST according to watchathletics.
With 8 or 9 sub 2:10 guys in the field, and a few separate 60-61 half guys, it's a good debut choice for Robertson. A good challenge but not overwhelming. If the race is slow, watch out for Meucci of Italy, who's placings at big events (top 10 at the last two world championships) are far better than his actual times
15:17 at 5k—2:09 pace
wth? Don't they have pacers? Someone told the pacers to go out at 2:09?
they're got three pacers

Not quite the junior athlete that Moen was. If he runs even below 2:08 I'd be highly surprised.
Is it normal for marathons to start at 12:30 pm there? Looks too bright and sunny for a fast marathon. 33:17 at 11k so 2:07 mid pace currently.
they were 30:21 at 10k. I wouldn't trust the screen's other "live distance/time" as I'm pretty sure they're just using 3min/km and then adjusting it when they hit actual timing mats.
so 2nd 5k was 15:04, back on schedule.
for the US fans, former US world 10k runner Scotty Bauhs is on 2:13 pace back in 61st place. I think he was hoping for better but he may be the best american in the field.
45:25 at 15k, another 15:04 from the pacers. Nice work! 2:07mid pace now

Wow. Top American. 61st place. Well at least he might get a finishers medal!
He's the only American in this field from what I saw from the main start list
