Anyone know what happened to Fred Kerley at indoors? Seemed like the favorite to win. Injured, peaking for outdoors? Didn’t he just run 44 something in practice?

He got out really slow and ended up getting boxed out on the break. While stuck in lane 2/3 he tried to move into lane 1 before the turn. He ended up tripping on one of the runners’ feet and losing all his momentum and, for a brief moment, coming to a complete stop. Now in last place and basically having to run this lap from a blank start, Kerley started driving and found a spot in lane 1 right beside the pack. As they made the turn he stayed in lane one and found an opening. On the final straight the same vantage held true, Kerley drove with everything he had to try and get the win but could only muster up a 3rd place finish and 5th overall.
Just had a bad first 200, stumbled up against another runner and had to get back in it. He is fit.
Ok, that makes sense. Thanks, I didn’t see the race. Sounds impressive if he still ran that fast after coming to a stop!
