Did you really mean .05 sec, .15 sec, and .30 sec? Your words make more sense if those are multiplied by 100.

Completely depends on how fast you and the other runner in question are running. If you are both 13:xx 5k runners, a 15 second difference would certainly be more than a spanking. It would be a demolishing/destroying. However if you are both in the 30 minute range, 15 seconds is really almost a tie.

1 - 5 seconds: X should move up to 10K
5 - 10 seconds: Is X injured?
10 - 20 seconds: How does X still have a pro contract?
