Nate Roese is a world class level talent imo. As a high school athlete he used to be one of the best in the state at the 200m and 5K XC. Insane range. I don't know him personally but I am happy to see he is pursuing his potential in the 800m and is up there with guys like Murphy -
It was much more classic Murphy yesterday. He sat back, quite a bit back, as Martin took it out up front. Then when he accelerated with about 250 to go and went from about 4th to 1st over the next 100m it was easy to see it was over. Very relaxed with that silky smooth last straight.

Sub 1:50 is not elite by any stretch of the imagination.
It's good he is racing well enough and winning, it's early in the season. But whether it's 1:51 or 1:48 it makes no difference to guys who can run 1:42. -

He isnt up there with Murphy......Murphy is back there with him. -
Right, the number of 1:42 indoor races is crazy high.

Like who? I don't think Rudisha can run a 1:42 anymore. -
Good signs, but he's going to have to figure out how to get to 1:45 in short order to race the likes of Saruni and Brazier to be competitive... not to mention a handful of 1:46 guys like Sowinski. The US team may be Brazier and Sowinski with Murphy sitting out this year (too much of a gap at this point of the season).

Didn't he run 1:46 mid, like, last week? -

Yep, and an easy 1:48 this week
He’ll be fine -

Like Clayton himself for a start...
He doesn't run 1:48 and think 'great to be running sub 1:50'.
It's a meaningless standard that only applies as a sign of quality to amateur runners.
Most elites that choose to do indoors would be looking for 1:46 times as a sign they are on the right track. They can do 1:50 with only the most basic level of training (again, including Clayton) -
I’m honestly not super confident he’ll even make the world indoor team, given that Windle was over a second ahead of him at Millrose. Brazier seems like a lock. But if it’s slow, it’s more of a toss up.

Does anyone know whats going on with Ricky Faure who was last in this race.? Ricky is probably the best runner to come out of the state of Wyoming . As a senor in high school he had the best time in the nation in the 800m (1:48.14). He did go sub 1:47.xx his 1st year of college but never has improved on that and he's had a lot of slow times and DNF's this season. Anyone know?
