Because being fit early in the year worked out so well for him last year?
#peaked
reed, what are you hating on? Worked tremendously well for him last year. Do you forget he was a damn collegian last year?
He ran 43.70 and broke the NCAA 400m Record held by Quincy Watts.
He then ran 44.03 to WIN the USATF Outdoor Track & Field Championships 400m as a collegian.
Oh, he also won indoors. And the 4 x 400m.
and he won Silver at the 2017 IAAF World Championships.
That's a damn good year, son.

43.70 at WC would've made for an even better year. Or a 43.70 4x4 leg.
Awesome. Looks great, and I am looking forward to his season but what's the point of running a 400m time trial?

Remind me again how many races he ran last year? 50? 60? I wonder if he on pace for that this year????
Wow! But why?
To check where you are at and adjust training to it that’s why he did a TT.

It is unusual for a 400m runner to do a full length time trial. Usually they will instead go to a low key meet nearby, since that way they get the additional benefit of practicing their warmup, following a schedule, etc.

Yet you sitting in you mom’s basement at age 35 think he had a bad year as he was only 7th at worlds and was better in June than August? Please.
Considering there is no global outdoor championship this year if I were him I’d be doing everything I could to win word indoors (and I have no idea if he’s doing that as he hasn’t raced).
Haha. I never thought I’d see the day Rojo used the “mom’s basement” line.
Kerley has raced this year btw. 2 times, both relatively low key. After that TT, I’m not sure what the plan is. I think I’ve heard his main goal is the WR this year. If so, he’s obviously building up well for it.

Are you an idiot? I’d say it worked out just fine. It resulted in two NCAA titles , a us title , a 1.4 second pb (43.7) and a Nike contract.

Is it just possible he was not being sarcastic?

3/10. Mom’s basement line gave you away.
Seriously though, it’s not a ridiculous thought to hope he times his peak for international (rather than collegiate) events. He was clearly cooked come Worlds last year. Would have loved to see him in his peak, 43.7 shape against the best in the world rather than while running a glorified time trial in collegiate meets.
He did have a great collegiate year, no one is disputing that.

I can assure you regardless if they admit it or not... Michael cherry, Vernon Norwood, and the dude that failed drug test kissing his girl, and lashawn Merritt are shitting their pants!
Why would a pole vaulter be shitting his pants?
I don't get the mom's basement line.
I'm from Florida.
What's a basement and what's the equivalent for those states that don't have basements?
I wonder where I'll be living with mom at 35.

Um ok, guy. 1.) Yeh, it did. Two collegiate records and a US title. 2.) He had two entire collegiate seasons to work around last year and THEN tried to tack worlds onto that.
This is an off year (no worlds, no olympics) so he can peak literally whenever he and his coach decide. He'll get another second before he's done this season.

Same place you are now.
Couldn't break :55 to save your life, Slow as Phuk, and raggin' on Kerley.
.....And living in your momma's house, but perhaps not in the basement.
