The Peloton Tread is an incredible waste of money

Yea but its gonna sell like hotcakes just like the crappy bike.

Here's an idea for a treadmill with motivation:

Have a screen with a cute blondie ahead of me. To catch her I have to run faster. If I pass her, there's a cuter ginger waiting...

Since I've become faster there's now almost no women near in races. Now I'm far less motivated on race day.

You should get a real treadmill that has at least an American made motor... the Landice L8 has a Baldor motor made right in Fort Smith Arkansas.

Am I the only person who can't look at a TV display on a treadmill? I bounce way too much on a treadmill to watch a video. If it's mounted on a wall a few feet away, it's okay.

I've run on one and I think it runs well. I like the big tread and it's pretty wide too. As far as the tech part.. that is a complete waste of time UNLESS that is what gets someone to actually use the machine. If I'm on a TM I'm going to do some type of workout to make it go by faster, and TM are good for workouts because the pace is exact. I don't need a video feed of some hot chick to make me do 6x800m or a 4M tempo, etc.

The kicker with all equipment, it's easy to go buy it, but owning it doesn't help, you actually have to use it. If having the connection, and the various videos makes someone actually use the darned thing- great, otherwise you can buy a quality TM without the tech.

Day two, the Peloton IPO continues to collapse, at the 10 am hour, shares are trading down -7% in the 23-handle, and in the last 645 minutes of trading, are now down more than 13%. Peloton, having priced the IPO on Thursday at $29 - the upper end of the range - and being promoted by mainstream media as "oversubscribed," has been a bloodbath for insiders who bought 40 million shares at $29 each, now collectively down 17.5%.

As Bloomberg pointed out, the worst opening trades for a $1 billion or greater IPO since 2008 are:

SmileDirectClub -11% (Sept. 12)

ADT -9.6% (2018)

Uber -6.7% (May 10)

Peloton, opening-up at $27 on Thursday, was a 6.9% drop and thus the third-worst opening trade for a unicorn IPO.

There have been nearly 100 IPOs with better starts since 2008 after raising at least $1 billion.

Here's the problem. We're headed for recession. Do you buy a $2000 bike with fifty bucks a month plus in these times? It is time to save money.

I'm thinking of getting a Peloton since we could be indoors for a while. Bike or Treadmill? It sounds like the bike's a better deal. I don't care for the monthly fees for life though. Thoughts?

Got me a norditrack 2950. Love it. Tommy rivers has videos running in Greece, Arizona, Patagonia, fills up 45min to 1”5 hours easy.

Screw classes. These videos are amazing and the treadmill is great

The bike has been a fantastic purchase for us.

Ive lost that extra weight and I ride daily.

Love the classes.

Cancelled the Y membership and cable.
