Yawn, its a great time for a 17 year old, but nothing crazy.
tough to tell as well as we don't know there training but, if he solidly progresses in his career, next Nick Willis?
Starting blocks in the 1500m??
That is really quick for a New Zealander to run that. A future Nick Willis in the making????

HAHAHA, I don't know why the website used a photo of sprinters when they were talking about a 1500m??
Did you know a 16 year old boy from Norway ran a 3:39 just last year?

Yes I do know that and that is a super crazy time. But I think this kid by the looks of it still attended school, doesn't train at altitude and I don't think he has two older brothers that are professional 1500m runners (I could be wrong Hahah).

So this year it could be that the most exciting three u18 1500m talent in the world are non-African :
Jakob Ingebrigsten (Norway) (3:39 at 16)
Isaiah Priddey (NZ) (3:44 at 17)
Max Burgin (GB) (3:53 at 15, 1:49 at 800m WR age group, intends to prioritize 1500m in 2018).

Will be very exciting to see what happens!

No, that's the 1500m line! Why are they using blocks at the 1500m line?
Many 17 year olds have done that sort of time. Quite a few were even white.
That's about the same time Jim Ryun ran in the first round of the 1964 Olympic 1500m...he was 17 at the time....

Probably the 100m actually. Track meets may switch the 100 to the back stretch depending on the wind.
And they decided to use sprinter spikes as well? On topic, it's a fantastic time, Ingebrigtsen's PR doesn't change that. It's not a guarantee that he can keep the 3:39 shape anyway.

It was the 100m hurdles to catch the tailwind. Just as excitingly Isaiah isn't unbeatable in NZ currently, in the last two weeks another two 17 years old have run 3:47 and 3:48 and all three are capable of beating the others on a good day.
It’s pretty impressive. How many Americans have run that fast at 17? We have had many fast high schoolers but most didn’t hit that time until 18-19 years old.

I reckon he will run 3:36 this year. But in the future I think he will max out at 3:32.

Most of the US High Schoolers that run fast do it a couple weeks before they leave to University.
