That was just a stupid thing to say. I'm not buying their stuff anymore.

Won't affect a thing. Stop being so butt hurt and move on with your life.
I have skin thicker than one micron, so my buying habits will not be altered.

I'm not buying their products until they reinstate Brooks ID Elite. If that's really the direction they want to take their business, I'm sure they won't care. But I will continue to boycott them and recommend other companies to my friends.
I probably won't buy there gear anytime soon but not because of the CEO. I was running in the Brooks Pureflow shoes and I liked them but they led to some foot injuries so I am now sticking to Mizunos. I don't think I own any other Brooks gear and do not see myself buying new gear anytime soon.
I don't like what the CEO said and if I had a choice between 2 very similar products with similar pricing I would buy the other product (unless it was Nike).
I like Brooks shoes. Of course I'll continue buying them.
The CEO correctly recognizes that 99.999% of people who run are in it for personal reasons, and 99+% of people in a road race have no shot at winning. So what? I train seriously and I'm all in when it comes to my goal races, but I don't even see 95% of the race for 1st - and I've taken home prize money in my last three goal races.
The CEO is right: we're hobbyists. I though we weren't going to get upset any more about who is and who isn't a hobby jogger?

I made $3k in prize money over the last year. I have no problem calling myself a hobby jogger. What I don't like is a CEO essentially saying I don't matter to him. Because that's really Weber's message: serious runners (hobbyists or not) don't matter. We're not money makers. If that's the way he feels (and it is), then I'll take my business elsewhere. If Brooks continues to succeed, so be it. We're all better off in that case.
