I'm a current male JUCO 400m runner looking to go D2 next year. I noticed that probably my favorite school choice has much better success on the womans side then the men. In a big D2 conference the woman are consistently in the top 3 in both xc and track while the men are usually in the bottom half. Both teams have had the same head coach for the past 20 years. He currently stepped down to just be just one of the assistant sprint coaches.
I noticed this Coach was the head coach and sprints coach of this program when in 2014 and 2015 both women's relays, 4x1 and 4x4 went to ncaa D2 outdoors but in 2014 the mens program didn't even run a 4x100 all year. And there 4x4 was awful. In 2015 they ran ok 4x1, 42.5 but again the 4x4 was awful, 3.26. How could a head/sprint coach have great womens relay teams and not even have enough men to run a 4x1 in a whole season? And their mens 4x4 has a tradition of being bottom of the conference.
Long story short do you think this coach didn't care about the mens program?
