What's the system for duals and tri meets (as opposed to invitationals) for high schools? Anything special to watch for? Any other tricky scoring issues? Thanks.
same as an invite really:
1st=1point
2nd=2
3rd=3
and so on.
first 5 count for each team, 6 and 7th runners can displace.
same thing for a tri meet. tri meets can also be scored as dual meets by simply not counting a team's runners.
ie: if team one finishes a runner first, team two finished a runner in 2nd, and team three finishes a runner in 3rd, a dual meet between teams one and three would be 1-2, and ameet between teams 2 and 3 would be 1-2.
you just throw out one team's score and move everyone up.
Number 6 man is the tiebreaker also.
