I like to stick to a more or less the same training year round, week by week, day by day. I wanted to introduce some vo2max paced work every week, once a week but didnt want it to be too taxing on my system.
So for testing out two weeks in a row I did 20x400 w/ ~70 sec walking rest in between starting in 82 sec and naturally progressing down to 77, finishing the last single one in 76, 74. Though the last few seems not so easy anymore, overall they dont feel hard and I am not struggling at all.
Was wondering what you think -- can this workout be practical in the sense - would it provide me any benefit with such long recoveries? Or should I just be doing some repetitions instead – like 200s?
Btw I am 16:3x 5k runner.
