Hey, I am a high school senior who ran cross country and is currently running track. My PR for 5k (XC) is 19:35, my mile this year was 5:31, and my 3k was 11:23. I am somewhat new to running but I am trying to become much more competitive with it. I plan to get my mileage up to 50 miles per week by the end of winter and then again at the end of spring. I will definitely be consistently running 40 miles per week, but I am currently building to that mileage (I am running about 35 currently). My goal is to run sub 11 in the 2 mile and sub 5 in the mile by the end of spring track this year, so I have about 5 months to do so. My training usually looks like this:
Monday- maintenance Run
Tuesday- interval workout
Wednesday- recovery run
Thursday- tempo or progression run
Friday- recovery run
Saturday- long run
Sunday- short easy run
Does anyone think this would be possible for me to drop that much time? If not, where do you think I could get to?
Thanks!
