What are some good training books geared to high schoolers?
Daniels Running Formula is the obvious one, and it is definitely recommended.
I would also throw in a this one which has high school schedules and speaks to developing high school athletes:
Outside of books I would recommend looking into high school training plans that can be purchased here from Hanson, Mcmillan and some others:

There are a few websites dedicated to high school coaching which talk at length to lots of different very successful high school coaches, their schedules and their coaching philosophies:

http://www.crosscountryexpress.com/
Plenty of other resources too if you look hard enough like this site for instance.
Good luck!
The two I would recommend are:
Healthy Intelligent Training
Road to the Top
If you are a little more advanced:
Daniels 2nd Edition
Thank you! I had read everything published up until about 10 years ago. Since then I have been out of the loop . Now trying to refurbish my brain cells so I can get back into coaching... and make sure I have not missed out on any new books on running training.
Jack Daniels has three editions that are worth reading. Scott Christensen has some good courses on complete track and field that break down science of distance running. Check em out, but beware of implementing cookie cutter programs. Adjust them to tailor your situation!
Has Dr Timothy Noakes published anything new since "the lore of running"?
