I have it as:
1) E. Kipchoge
2) G. Rupp (won Chicago, 2nd Boston, Olympic medal in tough conditions)
3) D. Wanjiru (won London 2017, Amsterdam 2016, 2:05)
4) G. Kirui (won Boston, 2017 WC, 2:06)
5) S. Moen (won Fukuoka, 2:05)

Is this a troll effort or have you never heard of Kenenisa Bekele? He should be #2 (although someone could probably make a decent argument for him to be tied for #1).
Bekele is too inconsistent and hasn't finished a marathon in 2 years. Here is my list
1. Kipchoge
2. Kipsang
3. Rupp
4. Unknown Ethiopian #1
5. Unknown Kenyan #1

On the contrary, it sounds like you haven't watched a marthon in 2 years. You should look at Bekele's results for the last 2 years.

Bekele accidentally almost broke the world record 1 year ago. He also beat an all time great in that same race. He has also run several 2:06 or faster marathons.

Bekele? I don't think he's going to produce any incredibly fast marathon times any longer. In 2017, he dnf'd Dubai and got 2nd in London in 2:05:57. I got Moen over him now. Sorry.

5 - Chris Derrick
1) E. Kipchoge
2) L. Cherono
3) G. Kirui
4) D. Wanjiru
5) G. Rupp
Honorable mentions: G. Kamworor (close contender for 5th), W. Kipsang (finally on the downswing?), K. Bekele (too inconsistent), G. Adola (let's see how he does in London)
Have some of you lost your minds??? How is Galen Rupp ranked ahead of Bekele?!
1. E. Kipchoge
2. Wilson Kipsang
3. Tamirat Tola
4. Feyisa Lilesa
5. Bedan Karoki
Bekele apparently wasn't even good enough to be selected to the Ethiopian Olympic team. Galen Rupp finalized 3rd in the world Olympics (maybe 2nd if he didn't run the 10k before) of all the best 3 each nation had to choose. Galen has to be ranked top 3. 1 kipchoge 2 Galen/kirui

He ran a tactical 2:03 just 1 year ago.

Bekele ran 2:03 near the selection time. No Ethiopian ran faster.
The Olympic marathon does not bring the best 3 runners from each nation. The top marathon runners usually run the WMM marathons over Olympic and World Championship marathons.
Um, ever heard of Wilson Kipsang?
1) Sal "Sally boy" Capetillo
2) Mark Wetmore
3) Ryan "monkey bagel mouth" Hall
4) Ryan Hall's God (the coach)
5) Sara Hall's bunhuggers
Mark Wetmore's Clint Eastwood cowboy hat

I suppose it's because he's white. After all, this is LRC, where a marathoner who would still be beat in most marathons 40+ years ago (yes, getting on to half a century) is somehow one of the best five in the world.
1) Kipchoge
2)Kipsang
3) random kenyan
4)Bekele
5) Rupp

5) about 100 more random Kenyans and Ethiopians
6) maybe Rupp, if no one else shows up but B-team runners
Fixed that for you.
