Come to think of it, I've seen several women fall over after only running in the 14's for 5Ks. Where the hell do they get off? Bekele could do that in his sleep.

Abebe Bikila used to do the same thing...no, wait, he laid down and did sets of situps and pushups.

He gets diarrhea a lot after races and tries to ease the pain with sit ups. Then he poops his pants.

ritz is definitely just acting out, as shown by his performances this year in xc and road racing. that falling over stuff makes him look gay and less talented than he really is. you didnt see crag fall over when he ran 13:16, or webb fall over when he ran 3:49 in oregon.

Webb definitely ran a 3:50.xx in Eugene, no American has ever broke 3:50 on U.S. soil....come to think of it, only one man has, and that is El G who did it in Oregon a few years earlier.

Getting back on topic, I don't think there is anything wrong with it, he can run a hell of alot faster than me so I can't really criticize him.

No, there isn't. Webb has run 3:32 for 1500; he was likely in 3:49 shape had he run another mile race or two. 1 second is 0.4% of the race. Very little, as compared to 1 second in a 20 second 200, which is 5% of the race, a big difference.

Maby it is due to the fact that he is running his ass off. If I rember, the last time Geb, and Terget ran a 10k on the track. They both allmost droped to the ground, had the race been any longer they would have likely droped.

A guy with the name of Ron Clark, also run so hard at the OG, that he droped to the ground and passed out, Slazar ran so hard he droped to the ground more then once. So did Murry Halburg, upon his Olimpic GOLD. And Jim Rayan ran so hard he droped to the ground. Come to think of when Coe and Ovette raced each other. More often then not they would be bent over at the end of the race looking like they where going to die.

The question is why are more runners not on the ground at the end of there races. Eveyone wants to look pritty. But that will not get you anywhere, E-Zitopek looked like hell when he ran. But he beat eveyones butt. If I rember he stated ''I don't have the talent to run hard and look pritty''.

Actually, El Guerrouj always looks fresh as a daisy after all his 3:26-3:28 15's, Gebrselassie was off jogging onto a victory lap about 5 seconds after all his 5 and 10 WR's, Komen just walked about 10 yards after the finish and kept jogging, he freaking looked like he had been out for a Sunday stroll, and a bunch of other Grand Prix runners I have never seen so much as crouching over breathing hard.

It is a mark of good conditioning.

Wasnt the last time Tergat and Geb raced 2000(greatest distance race ever), they were tired, but if i remeber, they hardly bent over.

But it does seem that the east africans are far less likly to "fall over", im not sure why.

better CO2 capacity, better running efficiency, lighter and not as likely to tip over.

It looked like he was legitimately spent to me at the finish, not just putting on a show. Anyone know what his lap splits were? He flew the 2nd to last lap, but then tied up pretty badly.

Not to be an ass or an SOB, but both Terget and Geb where spent. They where two of the best 5k runners in the world. And once that 10k was done, nither one raced again!

And at the end of that race, nither one of them was looking like it was anything but Hell! Look up some picks, Geb tung was hanging out of his mouth! And Terget, arms where thight. All things told they where both showing poor from.

If is one thing to run a race with pacers, who brake the wind. And help you expend 15% or so less effort as you have someone braking the wind. But when any of these guys get in Champ Races where they are no pace munkeys they all look like shit at the end of there races.

If I rember right, Geb beat Koman!, and has run much faster over the 5K then Koman did.

Look at the 96/2000 OG picks from the final races. And see if you find one guy who looks good at the end. Or looks like it was easy.

No matter what your level of fitness, if your racing hard and you go into O2 debt. Your going to be in pain no matter how fit you are. Coe, the person with likely one of the highest VO2 and LT, ever. Did not race Ovette unless he had to. Why do you think that was, they where both setting world recs. Maby it just hurt like hell.
