It is too bad that the HS coaching clinic that is sponsored takes such a narrow view of coaching that focuses on only the training aspect. Yes, that is the really cool stuff, but so are other aspects of coaching like developing a coaching philosophy, understanding how to communicate, sport psychology, organization skills, etc.
The USOC has a Quality Coaching Framework that should be considered as a part of any curriculum for a coaching seminar.
It is not perfect, but it has lots of good ideas in it.
Coaching goes beyond the X's and O's or learning how many repeat 1000s to do.
