Open to dating runners and non-runners, but those who are still fitness oriented. Preferably not someone too neurotic, which some competitive runners tend to be.

If that's you being honest about yourself, go for it. So many girls have terrible profiles where they throw in some cliche pop culture reference. It is basically like saying "look at me, I'm a basic azz girl." Which is probably what some guys want.

If I saw that, I'd be interested. Obv you gotta be hot though. If you ever want to go on a date I'm down in NYC and I'm 26.

Shalane did not win because of her superior tactics. Her main rival was way off her game and she was way fitter than the rest of the field. She won because of her superior workouts. So, you should not put this DISHONEST and/or INACCURATE statement on your profile.

Sounds a bit niche. You could say that you're big into sports (true, and vague) and that you're a competitive runner (which smart men would infer that you pay attention to track and field and know more about it than most.) Unless you want to talk about running the entire time, you might not want to put it all in there.

However, on a date if the guy goes "hey didn't some American lady win that one marathon?" you can wow him with your knowledge.

I think it's too much. I have no problem with something like "former competitive runner and now follow the sport as a fan usually more than the Olympics" But that stuff about Shalane screams that you might be too into it and not into dating. Honestly, who cares about Shalane's tactics in an online dating profile.

But if you are reasonabley attractive, you could put "I like to kick puppies and kittens for fun" and you'd get a ton of responses.

You are right that it might be too specific. What about just "following elite distance running and how there's a lot of strategy involved beyond just people running"? Best case, conversation starter. Worst case, educate a guy about track.

I like this one. Not too specific but also says that you're into it more than the average person.
