Anyone have any idea of the kind of mile time you’d need to be able to break 9:30 in the two mile. Also what kind of mileage to be able to run that kind of a time? Last year I was 9:50 so I’m hoping to get close to that this year.

I ran 4:24 and was running about 70 miles a week.
If you run back to back 4:45 miles you should be good
It really depends on the athlete. I have a young 16 year old runner who recently ran 9:33 and his best 1600m is about 4:30. His mileage is around 20-25 miles a week.
Another 17 year who I coach has run 4:10/9:15 and his mileage is around 30-35 average. These results are based on southern hemisphere and are conversions from 1500/3000m recent races in the last 6 months.
Every athlete is different and mileage is very individualised for the athletes and the goals that they set and what they can handle.
I was a barely sub-9:30 3200 runner as a senior in HS. At the time my best 1600 was a second or two under 4:30.
Forgot the second part about mileage. I was probably running 30 miles a week. Maybe sometime as high as 45, but not with any consistency.
