This summer I joined my city summer track team. We trained very hard and I was able to bring my 400m time from High 56 to an high 55 , and I know I could run fast then 55 because I only ran at one meet after all my training.
July 15, was the last time I have sprinted. August 22, I decided I had to run to get in shape for indoor season.I had ran 3 200s , with 30 second breaks in between. I felt kind of slow and got tired, super tired after the first 200m and I felt sore the next day. From here I have ran ever other day until school started.
When school started I stopped running and I started weight training and played basketball , my strength improved rapidly. Squat went from 150 to 290. I have got my upper and lower body stronger and I feel it because dunking for me is way easier then before.
Now the real issue is , when indoor season started, we ran 6 200m , and I was feeling real slow , especially after the final 100m it was hard for me to finish it wasn't timed but I am pretty sure it was slow. But I thought weight training was suppose to help with things like this. I thought I would be faster.
I need help , do I need more time or what.
