Peaked and averaged around 75 miles per week which was about 5 more than usual. Hit every workout in my schedule, including 2 hilly marathon pace workouts 4 and 6 weeks out from the race.
I felt very on top of my training the whole time, never lethargic or overly fatigued. 2. Week taper,but race day came and I was sapped early. What’s this a symptom of? Have six or seven marathon a in the book and this is the first time I felt this way.

It could be a case of going out too fast.
At the start it seems as if everybody starts out loaded for bear. It is difficult not to go with everybody else and hang back.

How was your taper? Did you go too hard in final weeks? Did you travel and walk around a lot instead of resting? Is it possible you weren't recharged for the race?
Marathoning is an art as well as a science.
Trying to figure out what was the problem to avoid next time is the art part of the sport.
Trying to figure out what to do different makes it interesting.
It is possible you did nothing wrong and if you do the exact same thing you will be okay next race.
Possibly you didn't have enough sleep leading up to race day or you have a physical job that you worked at up to the day before the race.
Possibly you went out of town and stayed in a motel. Sleeping on an unfamiliar mattress might have caused a lack of restful sleep.
Could be anything, but I'm still gonna guess the two week taper wasn't enough to refresh. Sounds like you trained harder than usual and might have needed to back off a bit more over the last three weeks.

Tuesday before Sunday thon did 3 x 2 miles @ MP. Felt super easy.
Get some new shoes?
Maybe you came down with a virus. Or it could be the taper. Or your nerves. Or your negative thinking.
Sometimes it just isn't your day and it's impossible to pinpoint what went wrong.
It happens. Hopefully it won't happen again next time.

Since you posted no times, no way to know what happened at the start.
Best guess, you went out too hard.
I was training to run 620s. Most miles early were 613-620 range.
There were a few in a row closer to 613. Could that gap have fried me?

If "620s" means 6:20-6:29 then yes, running 6:13s early in the race probably fried you. If "620s" means 6:20, then it was probably a combo of going to fast and something else.

You had a rough day. You should be able to run 10 miles at Marathon Pace at any time.
By 620s I meant 6:20s on the nose, not 6:20-6:30.
Did your taper for this race differ from previous races?
You're not describing how the race went. Dead legs could be anything. How badly did you end up falling off pace and at what point did that begin to happen?
