I've noticed that a lot of women past a certain age, particularly 50+, opt to have their hair cut very short. Some even have it cut as short as a boys or shorter.
Anyone know why these women choose to do this given the fact that very, very few women can actually make short hair attractive?
Because generally their ability to grow hair that looks healthy while long diminishes greatly past a certain age.
Partly due to age and the rest from attacking it with toxic chemicals and heat for 40 years.

Wow. Someone actually answered a question with a legit answer.
It takes forever to wash and dry long hair. I assume that women that age are married and no longer want to take an hour+ each morning to manage it if they no longer need to find a mate.
It's a universal female signal for giving up as far as the opposite sex is concerned. The other is putting on 50lbs.
It doesn't matter...most are old married gals anyway. ? It's not until the 70+ demographics that the odds get better with more single old bags (mostly widows at that point). Then the problem is what kind of condition are these old ladies in if you want to hook up with them.

Women with long hair don't wash it every day and it takes a lot less time to dry long hair than it does to style those ridiculous mulit colored/ multi layered , varnished helmets the 50 plus crowd sports.
They invariably also have six pounds of make-up on too.

Women do not get ctheir hair cut short past a certain age. WOMEN GET THE HAIR CUT SHORT IMMEDIATELY AFTER GETTING MARRED.

It seems to be more correlated to having children from what I have seen.
Also, I think one of the reasons not mentioned is that women start becoming much more concerned with what other women think and a lot of women seem to think it is some sort of an edgy style, so they cut their hair short.
Most women I have talked to about this seem only half aware that most men find it not very attractive.
Other associated styles, such as the resurgence of mom jeans seems to be also tied to women thinking about how other women percieve them. Maybe it is fair, though. Afterall, theyre more likely to be judged harshly by other women than by men. Most men will get past a hairstyle they dont like because theyre just horny.

Plus, they start wearing huge chandelier or hoop ear rings, which I can only guess are to distract you from their wrinkled face.
No wonder we seek trophy wives.

I am female - this is true. My sister had longer hair until her early 50s when she chopped it off. It was looking split and thin so it looks much better now. However I hate it when older women have the shaved neck look. The views of the back of their neck are not pretty - necks are either thick and saggy or scrawny like a chickens. Both have wrinkles. Not being crappy about it - I have the same problem which is why I choose to have my hair grown out to a little below my chin.
