Marathon nutrition for 2:50

How are you gonna carry that? I ran 2:50, had 5 gels. Never hit the wall, but had to carry the gels because the marathon offered hobby jogger nutrition like Pretzels and gummy bears.

It's a 8 lap course, so I will place small bottles at a aid station.

well if you can place your bottles, consider yourself lucky.

the standard would be like 5 gels for a 3h marathon, each gel is about 100kcal, so that would mean 1.5 bottles suffice. but it probably doesn't hurt to consume 2 bottles, if that drink is easy to handle (in terms of digestion), most marathoners probably do not consume enough calories. I would then mix the 2 bottles with water so that you have 0.25l to drink for each of the aid stations (I assume 1 per lap).

Yeah the race is really good for nutrition. Okay so I will go for 2 packs of nutrition mixed into 4 bottles so I can drink one on lap 2,3,4 and 5. But in that case I wont have any nutrition last hour. Either I spread out the nutrition more i.e lap 2,4,5,6 or I do 2.5 bottles and take one on each lap 2-6. Which would you recommend?
