Hi, I'm a HS junior, and I'm looking for some advice on training. I want to know if you think it is possible for me to get down to 15:30 for a 5k in xc, and then around 1:53 for the 800, 4:15 for the mile next year. My 5k PR is 18:48 from sophomore year (didnt run xc this year) on about 20 miles a week. My other PRs are 51 in the 400, 2:03 in the 800, 23.2 in the 200. I've never done over 40 miles a week, but I am willing to do a lot of mileage this summer. What do you think I should do, and what are my chances at being succesful? I know the 5k would be a huge drop, but I'm wondering what will happen if I greatly increase my mileage.
