My So. Carolina teammate, Gus Kirkland in the early eighties jumped 7 feet, and was probably about 185 pounds.
Who is the heaviest guy to clear 7 feet in the high jump?

Jurgen Hingsen has to be up there, he weighed about 100kg (220 lbs).
nice thread idea.
Henry Patterson, former Toledo All-American and USA Outdoor Champion in 2001 jumped 7-7.25 at about 195-200 pounds.
Though he's been out-weighed already, my brother jumped 7' at 180 and managed 6'9" at 210.
He also managed to weigh 330 at one point a few years ago, but is now back down to 220 and ran 3:39 at Houston this year. There's about 25 years between the 7' jump and the marathon.
I had a teamate in college who had a PR of 7'3.5" if i remember correctly. I don't know what his exact weight was, but I was about 185 and I know he had to have weighed atleast that much. probably more.
Hingsen - 7'1 3/4, weighing 225?(1978) Also, Charles Clinger was 220 when he did 7'8 1/2.
