Started running last year, trained for the 400m for 3 months from being completely unfit and a coach potato to running 50 flat (solely speed endurance training). I could easily run sub 50 now though I think. This year I decided to move up to 800m as I am quite skinny and feel like the event would suit me better. I decided to train very hard this year to see how far I could go. I have been running 60-80km a week since March, which includes 2-4 interval/anaerobic/speed sessions a week and have been in the gym lifting weights and doing plyometric based activities 3 times a week on top of that. Semi-self coached, 19 years old. I want to peak for March next year, so what do you reckon I could run by March?
Example 20x200m workout which I completed recently:
25, 26.5, 26, 26, 26.5 --- 25, 26.5, 27, 26.5, 27 ---- 27, 28, 26, 27.5, 26 --- 27.5, 26.5, 28, 27.5, 26.
Around 2 minute rest, 5-6 minutes after each 5 reps.
In terms of Aerobic strength, in March my 5km time would have been about 23 mins, is now down to 17 flat after 6-7 months. Don't think 5km time is that relevant however.
