Portage Invite 2017- how slow?

They changed the course after D3 girls? Any idea by how much? Wind and temp played a big role I thought. We had 1 PR and 2 SR but my kids were all over but generally seemed 20-30 sec slower than I thought. We'll be back next year, kids favorite race all season.

Did anyone catch D1 girls finish? Lance Cruise North is in Macomb county? We thought they were from UP

Times don't matter. Run to race. Stop worrying about this trivial stuff and focus on beating people/pushing yourself and you will be much more successful (in running and life)

Yeah after the whole bee incident they chose to divert the course away from that (they had us run a different way down the hill)

Like 15-20 seconds slower throughout the whole field on average. But at the end of the day, you can really just compare yourself to the people you race against.

It was altered before the 6th grade race, prior to noon. Some wondered if it shortened the course. No, if anything, subtly longer but not by 30 seconds, not by a long shot. The day grew hotter and hotter, was quite humid and the wind was howling from the south. This makes Olivia Theis' 17:00 a truly extraordinary effort (and course record by 15 seconds). Also of note: a girl won the combined boys/girls 6th grade race by an enormous margin and nearly ran the fastest time ever for boys or girls ever. You know, it's really not that hard to get facts right on stuff like this.

Right, d4/3 ran original course while d2/1 ran altered course. Warm in the morning, warmer in afternoon and windier. Too warm this whole season, weather ever going to cool down????
