Is Matt Lane still running? Is he training for the outdoor season?
I expected him to run at the national cross country or indoor meet.

injured
He moved to Palo Alto never to be heard from again. This is not his fault other than not doing his homework. He is a great talent that we will never hear from again. I know his knee his hurt and he is receiving sugery blah blah blah blah blah. Brett Hauser is coming around nicely too. Brad who was always a shoe in for World Cross is no more. As a matter of fact no one from the Farm Team (male or Female) qualified for World cross this year. That is counting the Nike guys that train with them. How many of you thought that Asmeron or Riley or Hauser or Jimmerson should have made the team? They will run fast this weekend at the Indoor Nats because it is not a focus for anyone else.
Lane had a plica removed and is recovering nicely. Brad Hauser just went out too slow in the slop on that farce of a cross country course and got stuck back. He was about the only one to move up over the course of the race. The reason he only did 4K was because he didn't want to be too banged up for Lake Biwa Marathon in a couple of weeks. Brent Hauser has officially retired (about 9 months ago - old news.
I am not sure you can judge much of anything by the results in Houston. Alot of good guys had a lot of trouble, but that is why they run the race. The course was a disaster from the get-go. Why they decided to run the community races BEFORE the elite races I will never know - but then again, I am sure it was a "committee" decision...
Congrats to the guys who did make the team. It should be a great opportunity for some new blood to get some international experience. The more guys we have running at that level the better. Hopefully they represent the US well and continue the trend of improving our performances at World XC.
Let's just hope that the course is pretty close to the nearest bar or Dan Wilson won't make it to the starting line in time...
There was no bar close to the finish in Houston and he kicked th Farm Teams asses. Dan Wilson is proving what we all know that haven't been manipulated by the Nike Hype Machine. Dan is a better runner than Riley, Asmeron, Hauser or anyone else that the Farm Team puts on the line. The most telling result was a 4th place finish by an ex farm team athlete. Coincidence that he had very limited success while living in Palo Alto but great success after leaving? I THINK NOT
Why did Brent retire? I don't understand why young, good runners retire. They must not love running.
