I need a name for an End of the Season XC Meet for kids who don't make the Post Season Rosters. Can't use "JV"

This is actually a really good idea, being totally serious. You have to make sure the kids take it seriously though, so maybe motivate them with prizes (like really nice shirts or hoodies or something.) As for names, I'd call it like the November Open or something.

Why not score the meet two ways. Use traditional xc scoring and predicted time. Each runner submits their predicted time, and deviations both above or below that time increases that score. Say one point for every five seconds, add these to the place scores. Lowest total score wins, etc. You can call it "(fill in blank) November XC Rally"

Some of these naming suggestions are pure gold!

I like the Emerging Elite idea. Maybe Emerging Elite Invitational.

I like "Future Stars" even if some seniors will run it.

Black Aces is a hockey term given to players in the playoffs who do not dress for games, so they practice extra hard to ensure that if someone gets injured, they are ready to go.

Two problems with being in the Southeast:

1. None of them would recognize the hockey nomenclature

2. Would prolly get accused of racism, somehow, lol

When I was a wrestler in high school, a few of my teammates participated in an open meet called "freshman/sophomore state".
