Finisher medals are getting old, so is fat people bragging about there 'running' a marathon or any race for that matter. Letsrun maybe split on political views, but i believe this is something we can all agree upon. Make America fit again.

I'll bite because I'm bored and my food is goingto take a while to cook.
Have you ever thought that maybe some people really struggle to actually get fit because of their genetics, thyroid problems, lung problems and not everybody can sub a sub 3 or even a sub 4 marathon? Does it occur to you that these people actually might bequitefit but have absolutely no speed at all
As far as I'm concerned anyone who can run 26+ miles is fit (bear in mind that running has nothing to do with pace and is a physiological movement). The 5 hour marathoners impress me not because of tbeir pace but because seriously, could you run for five hours straight or maintain 165 BPM for 300 minutes? That sure as hell doesn't sound so easy now does it? These people might not be conditioned but they still have the mental strength.

Hey fatty, stuff your piehole and go back to RW.
I'd say, I respect anybody who runs a marathon, no matter the pace. Those that walk half of it and then claim they ran a marathon, not so much.

Awwwww. You are jealous your fat neighbor has 100 finishers medals and has sex with hot chicks everyday while you have 3 second place medals from the turkey trot and hot girls won't touch you.
So sad.
72% of hobby joggers who voted in the national election voted for Trump. Fact!

So the majority of the fittest Americans voted for Trump. That's great!

it's the people that aren't in the races that you need to worry about the most
oh cool, this thread again lol. Man runners can be petty sometimes, who honestly cares about finishers medals?
If they don't run, how are we going to make America fit again? And, if getting a medal motivates people to run, I'm all for it.
I don't have a problem with someone not having the appearance of being fit running a marathon, or taking their time to complete a race. I would never debase the effort(s) behind someone's fitness.
The problem that I have is the behavior and mentality that a lot of those runners have. A lot of them are POSERS, and do not know anything about the sport of road running or track and field. Those running communities just do not know what real running is, and that 800m to half marathon is more of a pure form of running than marathon running or ultra running ( and not that I dislike those races). In their minds, marathon running is real running, and that anything under that is not really long distance. It's quite funny. Most of them have horrible form and technique, and are not interested in doing speed sessions or strength training.
I'm also tired of the "feel good stories" that dominate most running magazines and running websites now, and generic running tips that are on the level of diet fads. It's like everything has been diluted to appeal to the everyday person, and that is not how running started, and that is not what running is about.
The only way to make America fit again is to make America poor again.
You mad bro?
When you make statments like this you have to state your PR.

This is spot on. To add further these POSERS are hurting are sport. Serious runners get grouped in with these fat attention whores. They are a drain on our sport as well as society.

Won't matter much. You can't outrun the fork. They'll stuff their face full of crap anyway.
Yep, I have acquaintances or work colleagues that cannot stop waffling on about their "Ironman" status on Instagram and then you realize they couldnt run a sub 4 hour marathon to save their life. The 'more = better' crowd infuriate me, its obviously far far harder to run a sub 2 min 800m than it is to 'complete' an Ironman but the former doesnt have an entire hype machine surrounding it.

Anyone (skinny or fat) who gets off their sofa and moves is good with me. They are at least trying something. May not be your definition of running, but so what? My peeve is reserved for individuals who run one or two 5-hour marathons, then launch a business as a "running & fitness coach". Sheesh.
This is like saying the over 35 overweight crowd playing hoops at the YMCA is ruining the NBA
